A 26-year-old man is accused of stealing a car, leading police on a brief chase and causing a four-car pileup in Billings on Wednesday morning. Travis John Iverson was scheduled to appear in Yellowstone County Justice Court on Thursday. He faces two counts of criminal endangerment, a felony, and four misdemeanors: theft first offense, obstructing a peace officer, driving while the privilege to do so has been suspended or revoked and operating a motor vehicle without liability protection in effect.
A Great Falls man has been sentenced to five years with the Department of Corrections for negligent homicide in the March 2016 death of his wife. The Great Falls Tribune reports 43-year-old Roy Edward Scott was sentenced Tuesday for the death of 32-year-old Stephanie Wells. He said he "bear hugged" his wife during an argument after a night of drinking. Court records said he told investigators he let go after she stopped moving and whining and saw her face had turned blue

A 26-year-old Bozeman man was arrested by Gallatin County deputies on Sunday for kidnapping. Police say his girlfriend escaped the vehicle they were in by jumping out of it. In charging documents, police said Bozeman resident Garrett Grahl threatened to kill his girlfriend multiple times on Sunday. Police said the victim picked up Grahl, her boyfriend, from work in Big Sky. They started driving north on Gallatin Road.

Four people were arrested in an ongoing series of drug raids in Polson. The Polson Police Department and the Flathead Tribal Police Department executed two search warrants. Polson Police Sergeant George Simpson says this is part of an ongoing effort to rescue drug endangered children, to target suspected drug dealers and users, and the houses they operate out of.
A Billings man was in jail Sunday for allegedly raping a teenage girl behind Hobby Lobby during her lunch break. Dylan Patrick Curtin, 20, is charged in Yellowstone County Justice Court with one count of sexual intercourse without consent.

Authorities report that a Great Falls man died in a snowmobile crash on Friday. Lewis & Clark County Coroner Bryan Backeberg has identified the man as Lee Schuler, 40. The accident happened near the intersection of Beaver Creek Road and Stonewall Creek Road north of Lincoln.

A loud explosion ripped through the Missoula Valley Thursday morning. It came from the old Smurfit Stone mill site, where another one of the buildings there is being taken apart.

A 20-year-old man arrested in East Helena is suspected of stabbing another man in Bozeman. Judge Michael Swingley set Jonathan Meyer’s bond at half a million dollars at a Thursday Justice Court Appearance. According to Gallatin County charging documents, Bozeman Police responded to a stabbing at an apartment on the 3300 block of Warbler Way just after 10:30 p.m. on January 19. When officers arrived they found the victim had been stabbed multiple times in the area around his heart.
A man was arrested Thursday night after leading law enforcement on a high-speed car chase through Billings' Heights and crashing into a fence along Lake Elmo. The chase began earlier in the evening when Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Darvin Mees tried to pull over a pickup for not stopping at a stoplight in the Heights.
Last week unknown suspects spray painted graffiti at Lewis & Clark Middle School, Senior High, and multiple homes and vehicles in the area of the 10 block of Burlington Ave. The graffiti included swastikas, profanity, and male genitalia.
A car crash has knocked out power to residents on the south side of Missoula Wednesday morning. The crash was reported just after 7 a.m. in the 2500 block of Sunridge Court, south of the Walmart Supercenter.
A Missoula man accused of using women and bringing teenage girls to Montana for prostitution went on trial before a jury in U.S. District Court in Billings on Monday. Terrance Tyrell Edwards, 35, faces 10 counts including sex trafficking by force or coercion, obstruction, a drug charge and witness tampering.

A Circle man is dead after he was ejected from his pickup in a crash Sunday morning. Montana Highway Patrol dispatch reported the 22-year-old man was southbound on Weldon Road and secondary Highway 252 northwest of Circle when he failed to negotiate a curve.
A driver's 1994 Honda Accord was stolen at gunpoint Friday night and the two suspects involved remained at large early Saturday evening. The carjacking occurred shortly before midnight at 11th Avenue South and South 29th Street, according to a press release from Billings Police Department Lt. Shawn Mayo.
Montana wildlife officials say 70 bison have been shot by hunters so far this year. The Billings Gazette reported Thursday that 59 of those bison were killed on the west side near West Yellowstone, while 11 were killed in the Gardiner area.

A small earthquake shook the area north of Bigfork on Sunday. There have not been any reports of injuries or major damage. The quake was measured by the U.S. Geological Survey as magnitude 3.0.
Prosecutors in Montana have filed additional charges against the couple already accused of killing and dismembering two people last summer. Tiffanie Pierce and Augustus Standingrock were charged with two counts of deliberate homicide after the bodies of 15-year-old Marilyn Pickett and 24-year-old Jackson Wiles were found in multiple tubs filled with chemicals in the basement of Pierce’s home in Missoula.

Samantha Nicole Wise has been charged in Great Falls with possession of a deadly weapon by a prisoner. Wise, an inmate at the Cascade County Detention Center, was charged on Tuesday after jail officer found her with a knife in her cell.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports 47-year-old Joseph DeWise was arrested Thursday on a charge of deliberate homicide stemming from the death of 35-year-old Lauren DeWise. He is being held in the Gallatin County jail on $1 million bail.
